Ilford Engineering has embarked on the journey to achieving the bronze award for SC21. We are working closely with clients Thales and Selex to help reach our target in February 2011. We won’t be stopping there as we will immediately go for the Silver award.
60 Years old – but no Signs of Retiring
We have just celebrated our 60th birthday, a wonderful achievement. With this success under its belt Ilford Engineering is looking forward to the next 60. However, with constant upgrading of machinery, improving techniques and excess energy and dynamism you’d think we were still in our twenties.
5-Axis Laser Cutter
We are proud to announce the biggest single investment in the company’s history was commissioned in January this year. Our new Trumpf laser cutter. This further indicates our commitment to clients to keep our equipment up-to-date to improve efficiency and speed. This complements our two 5-axis machining centres. See our plant list here.

We are exclusively a sub-contractor and over half of our turnover is derived from clients who have been using our services regularly for over 20 years. These clients span automotive, aerospace, defence and commercial building. See some of our clients here.

Over the last 15 years we have assisted many racers over the years to international success in many forms of motorsport but we can’t tell you who or you’ll all want those cars!
Heavy Metal
As a Ministry of Defence approved company since 1973, Ilford Engineering has worked on numerous and wide ranging projects, from the Challenger Tank to training aids. We also export this very specialist technology around the world to many other national MoD’s.
‘When can you start?’ ‘1989’
Over half of the team at Ilford Engineering have been with the company for between 15 – 20 years. Complementing that is a growing number of younger employees keen to learn the skills and learn from the experienced guys to help Ilford work better than before.
